Load testing checks whether a chair can withstand the forces created by sitting, leaning and repeated daily movement. Visual inspection alone cannot reveal weak welds, loose joints or frame deformation. What Parts of a Chair Are Tested?

Static and Cyclic Tests Serve Different Purposes

How Manufacturers Prepare Test Samples

Samples should represent normal production specifications. Using thicker steel, additional welds or different hardware only for testing would make the result unreliable. Material dimensions, upholstery, foam, fasteners and surface treatment should match the approved product.
